Imperial Russian M 1899 artillery or combat engineers backpack. Depot markings of the main depot of IRA in Vilno and date (bad visible), but all same backpacks we seen before have date: 1915 year. Most of these backpacks were issued to the soldiers of the Naval Fortress of the Peter the Great (NFP) in Reval, now it's Tallinn (Estonia). It was a Russian fortification line, which aimed to block access to the Russian capital Saint Petersburg via the sea. Read here more about this famous fortress here >> The backpack is in worn condition and has some damage due of the age and bad storage, also most leather straps became dry. It has been attic found in the area of the old NFP positions. Very rare.
