World War 2 period German soap RIF, 58 x 41 x 20 mm. The abbreviation "RIF" was incorrectly interpreted as "Reines Jüdisches Fett", indicating a misperception that it contained human fat. But it's actually the Imperial Office for the Supply of Industrial Fat and doesn't contain any human fat. The numerical value of 0223 is a manufacturer identification number.
