Original Wehrmacht Heer Offizierssäbel manufactured by Eickhorn, Solingen. The blade bears the original Eickhorn maker's trademark and remains in very good condition. A small section measuring approximately 3–5 cm near the ricasso shows minor oxidation beneath the nickel-plated finish, with little effect on the overall appearance.
The aluminum hilt retains virtually all of its original gilt finish, showing only light wear in a few places. The national eagle with outstretched wings remains sharply detailed. The wooden grip, covered in black celluloid and wrapped with aluminum wire, is exceptionally well preserved. Only a short section of the fine wire near the lower end of the grip is missing, a minor flaw that does not detract from the sword's overall presentation.
The scabbard was most likely repainted during the post-war period. The paint shows slight blistering in several places, while the scabbard itself remains structurally sound. Overall, this is a very attractive and well-preserved Wehrmacht Heer Offizierssäbel with honest period service wear and excellent collector appeal.
NB! This is a consignment item. Consignment items are subject to a 14-day inspection period starting from the date of receipt. After this period, all sales are final, and returns will no longer be accepted.
