SA Dagger RZM M7/83 Richard Plümacher Sohn
Original SA Dienstdolch manufactured by Richard Plümacher Sohn, Solingen, and marked RZM M7/83. This maker is considered one of the less commonly encountered SA dagger manufacturers, making this example especially interesting for collectors and research. The blade retains the original maker's mark and remains in excellent condition with a clearly legible motto. This example was captured as a battlefield trophy by a Red Army soldier, as evidenced by the characteristic post-war denazification. The grip eagle itself remains intact, while the wreath with the swastika held in its talons has been carefully removed. These alterations form part of the dagger's documented post-war history and reflect the fate of many German edged weapons brought home by Soviet servicemen as war trophies.
The nickel-silver grip fittings are exceptionally well preserved. The steel scabbard fittings retain their original nickel finish and brown lacquer, while the leather hanger remains in excellent condition and is fitted with its original RZM M5/71 marked spring clip. Despite the post-war denazification, the dagger remains highly attractive thanks to the outstanding preservation of the blade, scabbard, and metal fittings. Had it not undergone denazification, it would rank among near-mint examples. Instead, it preserves the authentic history of a genuine Red Army battlefield trophy.
