German Red Cross (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz) EM hewer, Model 1938. Total length is 41.8 cm. The example is preserved in outstanding condition, showing only minimal age-related wear.
The grip is made of zinc with nickel plating. The plating remains well preserved, showing only slight dulling and surface dust from long-term storage. Minor wear to the nickel is visible along the edge of the upper pommel, exposing the zinc base metal beneath. A very small area of exposed zinc is also visible on the reverse side near the blade. On the left side of the crossguard, the upper corner shows light wear with zinc visible. Otherwise, the grip fittings remain untouched.
The blade is steel and remains in excellent condition, displaying only a light age-related surface haze. There is no active corrosion. The blade features a blunted tip and a sawback spine. The original black leather blade washer is present. The blade bears the marking GESGESCH.
The scabbard is steel, finished in its original glossy black lacquer. The surface shows natural signs of use with minor scuffing. The scabbard fittings are made of nickel silver and show no oxidation, only very light handling wear near the lower mount. The scabbard remains straight and undamaged.
The dagger is accompanied by its original leather frog. The frog is in exceptional condition, showing virtually no signs of wear. It is fitted with early aluminum rivets. The leather remains supple, without cracks or losses, and shows no signs of alteration.
NB! This is a consignment item. Consignment items are subject to a 14-day inspection period starting from the date of receipt. After this period, all sales are final, and returns will no longer be accepted.
