Long KS98 Dress Bayonet by Puma Solingen, Personalized

Product Code: c/rk01
Price: 160.00€

Description

Original long-pattern KS98 dress bayonet manufactured by Puma, Solingen, identified by the maker's trademark depicting a puma's head within a square above the Puma name. The bayonet is personalized with the inscription Heinz Klug, 2./Pionier-Bataillon 30, identifying its owner as a soldier of the 2nd Company, Pioneer Battalion 30. Personalized examples of this type are especially desirable, as they preserve a direct connection to an individual serviceman and his unit.

The bayonet displays honest period service wear. The scabbard retains noticeable paint wear, while the hilt shows a distinct contact mark from prolonged use with its leather frog. The nickel finish on the metal fittings has worn through to the underlying base metal in places as a result of long service, adding to the authenticity of the piece. The Bakelite grip plates still retain attic dust and accumulated dirt exactly as found, without subsequent cleaning.

The blade shows only a few minor storage spots and otherwise remains in excellent condition, free from damage and retaining a crisp Puma maker's trademark. Despite evident service wear, this is a highly attractive personalized KS98 dress bayonet with excellent historical character and collector appeal.

NB! This is a consignment item. Consignment items are subject to a 14-day inspection period starting from the date of receipt. After this period, all sales are final, and returns will no longer be accepted. Returns of consignment items are not accepted after the inspection period, as the majority of the payment is transferred to the consignor.
