Pioneer Collar Tabs of the Wehrmacht Model 1933
The collar tabs are made from woven material using jacquard technique on a special jacquard machine. They feature characteristic black stripes, indicating affiliation with the Wehrmacht pioneer (engineer) units. A green diamond-shaped woven element is centered on a light green background.
This sample corresponds to the 1933 regulation adopted after Wehrmacht uniform reforms. Such collar tabs were worn on tunic collars, indicating the branch of service and rank of the soldier. Stored (mint) condition.
Types of collar tabs according to regulations:
a) 1933 Model: Field-grey (feldgrau) collar tabs with a dark grey (Graugrün) central field, with side stripes in the branch color. The backing was made of grey-green woolen cloth or moleskin.
b) 1935 (HV 33, Nr. 505): Field-grey collar tabs with a central panel (Mittelspiegel) in bluish-dark-green (bläulichdunkelgrün).
с) Order of November 26, 1938 (HV 388 B, Nr. 452): The central field and side stripes were made in a bluish-dark-green (bläulichdunkelgrün) shade.
в) Order of May 9, 1940 (HV 408 B, Nr. 134): Standardized collar tabs for all branches of service with a grey-green (angrauem) central field and side stripes. The tabs were sewn onto service tunics, moleskin jackets, and pre-war pattern field jackets (Feldbluse) with piped stripes. After 1940, collar tabs were usually sewn without piped stripes, including versions for Feldbluse 44 jackets and work blouses (Drillichblusen).
