Wehrmacht Pioneer Collar Tabs M1933
These collar tabs were produced using jacquard weaving on a specialized machine. They have distinctive black stripes indicating service in Wehrmacht pioneer (engineer) units. The center features a woven green diamond on a light green background. This model complies with the 1933 Wehrmacht uniform regulations introduced after uniform reforms. The tabs were worn on tunic collars to indicate the branch of service and rank. Condition: mint (stored).
Evolution of Collar Tabs According to Regulations:
- a) 1933 Model: Field-grey (feldgrau) collar tabs with a dark grey (Graugrün) central panel and side stripes in the branch color. Backing: grey-green wool or moleskin.
- b) 1935 (HV 33, Nr. 505): Field-grey collar tabs with a central panel (Mittelspiegel) in bluish-dark-green (bläulichdunkelgrün).
- c) Order of November 26, 1938 (HV 388 B, Nr. 452): Central panel and side stripes in bluish-dark-green (bläulichdunkelgrün).
- d) Order of May 9, 1940 (HV 408 B, Nr. 134): Standardized collar tabs for all branches with a grey-green (angrauem) central panel and side stripes. Applied to service tunics, moleskin jackets, and pre-war pattern field tunics (Feldbluse) with piped stripes. After 1940, tabs were usually sewn without piped stripes, including versions for Feldbluse 44 and work blouses (Drillichblusen).
These pioneer collar tabs are an important element of Wehrmacht uniforms, showcasing the evolution of uniform standards from the mid-1930s to the early 1940s.
