Original Segelflugzeugführer-Abzeichen manufactured by C. E. Juncker, Berlin. One of the rarest qualification badges of the Luftwaffe, instituted on 16 December 1940 and awarded to personnel who successfully completed the military glider pilot training course. Due to the limited number of recipients, it remains one of the scarcest Luftwaffe qualification badges and is only rarely encountered on today's collector market.
Die-struck in zinc, the wreath retains most of its original silver finish, showing only minor wear to the reverse from period use. In a few areas the silver finish has almost imperceptibly diffused into the zinc base, while the black finish of the eagle remains fully preserved. The badge is free from damage and displays outstanding overall preservation. Manufactured by C. E.
