Latvian 10th Anniversary Liberation War Medal with Swords
Original Latvian 10th Anniversary Liberation War Medal 1918–1928 (Latvijas atbrīvošanas kara 10 gadu jubilejas piemiņas medaļa) fitted with crossed swords on the ribbon, indicating wartime combat service. Instituted in 1928 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Latvia's War of Independence, the medal was awarded to participants of the campaign. The obverse depicts Latvian soldiers advancing before the rising sun, symbolizing the birth of the independent Latvian state. The reverse bears the Latvian coat of arms and the inscription Par Latviju 1918–1928 ("For Latvia 1918–1928"). Struck in bronze, the medal is complete with its original ribbon, suspension bar, and crossed swords device. It remains in good collector condition with an attractive natural age patina.
