An arm sleeve steel shield for the Demyansk Operation 1942, Type 4.3, commonly known in Western collecting circles as the "Missing Log". This type is named for two die stamp flaws commonly found on this shield. One flaw is the missing log on the right side/bottom of the pill box (see shield). The maker remains unknown, and the shield is made from magnetic steel. The condition of the shield shows significant signs of wear, but still retains all the characteristic features, such as the paper and fabric backing.
