Luftwaffe paratrooper badge by Steinhauer and Lück. The badge is unmarked, like all similar awards of this manufacturer. The badge is made of zinc and covered with silver and gold, with small traces of use and minor wear. Quite rare to find this type of luxury finish for an S&L issued badges
The badge was subject to discussion, based on photographs. There were doubts that it was being repaired, which was difficult to determine in case if the badge was made of Buntmetall metal, but zinc is not soldered without a trace, and tin solder is used for this, which will always make the seam visible. Fingerprints are found on silver-plated badges or other items due to sulfur compounds found in human sweat. In our opinion, the badge has not been repaired or restored.
