M35 Q66 double decal Ostfront (33 Infanterie Rgt) helmet in field depot repaint. Named Neumaier and visible old owner's name and unit 2 Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 33 under the field-grey repaint. The helmet has a lot of history and at least 3 layers of paint are visible: it was twice painted with apple green paint over the original factory applied decals, then painted in rough Feldgrau and Heer ED Strache decal was applied, which is practically gone due of combat use at the front. From inside of the helmet it was painted with grass green camouflage, but seems this paint has been fully removed by depot from the helmet's outside due no any traces of this paint are visible. The helmet has an early pre-1938 year liner, which is most probably replaced at the depot during repaint/repair works (same widely seen on most helmets from Eastern Front). The leather part is heavily worn, marked 59 and is a little bit damaged due to wear. Chinstrap is cut by the owner. The 33rd regiment has fought over Poland, France, and in USSR- Kiew, combat for Moscow, Orel, Kursk, then turned to Kurland where this helmet has been picked up as a barn find in the mid of '80s. Real nice Ostfront combat helmet!
