Postcard “Proud of My Son!”, 1944

Soviet wartime postcard issued during the patriotic campaign in support of the Red Army. The front depicts Joseph Stalin congratulating his son, an Air Force officer of the Red Army, decorated with medals and rank insignia. The caption above reads “Proud of My Son!”, symbolizing both personal pride and the collective image of a Soviet father whose son defends the Motherland.
The reverse side carries a handwritten message sent on May 10, 1944, from Kuibyshev (Kirov District Postal Office, poste restante Timshchuk) to Krasnodar, Traktornaya Street 9, addressed to Elvina Khristianovna Eybak. The letter includes May Day greetings and heartfelt words:
“We live only with the dream of returning to our beloved city… We hope to gather again by November 7, and meanwhile — talks about bread, soup, or happiness…”
A rare wartime postcard featuring Stalin and his pilot son, bearing an original postal cancellation “Krasnodar, May 10, 1944.” Excellent collector’s condition.
