The reverse side carries a handwritten message sent on May 10, 1944, from Kuibyshev (Kirov District Postal Office, poste restante Timshchuk) to Krasnodar, Traktornaya Street 9, addressed to Elvina Khristianovna Eybak. The letter includes May Day greetings and heartfelt words:
“We live only with the dream of returning to our beloved city… We hope to gather again by November 7, and meanwhile — talks about bread, soup, or happiness…”
