Very nice salty, battle damaged Soviet map case taken by German soldier as a trophy from KIA or captured Soviet commander. Pre 1941 year issue. It still has good visible traces/holes of some fragmentations and one steel piece got stuck inside the leather pocket. The name and the rank of the German soldier are bad visible, but could be read as Felwebel, then name is faint and Feldpost number 42759 C (valid until 1942 year), which is for 2nd Kompanie Landesschützen-Bataillon 495, from 1943 year - Wach-Bataillon Mogilew. Very interesting piece of history from Ostfront with it’s own character. Do not miss!
