RZM M1/145 NSDAP Membership Badge, austrian made

Branch: NSDAP
Product Code: o506/3
Price: 290.00€

Description

Original NSDAP Membership Badge maker marked RZM M1/145. Die-struck from magnetic steel with a copper undercoat and a thin silver finish. This example belongs to the post-January 1939 production period, following the introduction of the revised RZM maker numbering system, which also included manufacturers incorporated after the Anschluss of Austria. The manufacturer assigned to RZM M1/145 remains unidentified. Nevertheless, badges bearing this maker code are encountered relatively infrequently on today's collector market and are of particular interest to collectors specialising in NSDAP membership badge variations. Most of the silver finish has worn away, revealing the copper undercoat and the steel base in several areas. This badge does not exhibit the refined finish of the better-known makers, with comparatively coarse surface finishing and enamel work. The enamel itself remains free of chips and cracks, showing only light age-related darkening. Average collector condition.
