Wehrmacht Heer salty black Panzer/ Armored personnel officer's overseas cap. This salty hat belonged to a real veteran who went through the war. Privately purchased cap constructed of finely ribbed black trikot diagonal wool, entirely in the original condition. All insignia is also original to the cap and ww2 period applied. The flatwire eagle partially machine sewn and attached in the "zip and flip" style with a single line of straight machine stitching across the top of the eagle then being folded over and with the lower edges hand sewn. The eye-cockade is sewn by hand, and an early pink cotton soutache is a straight machine sewn over it. The cap has strong traces of wear and fading. Salty, dusty, and has an overall patina of wear and sun fading, the soutache's and eye cockade surface is a bit abraded; the cap is shaped from being worn for a long time. The bottom seam holding the lining is almost completely lost due to its hard wear, which does not lose its comfort when worn. The insignia correspond to the condition of the cap. The size of the hat is 58-59. A very fine-looking example with lots of character for those collectors who love the smell of gunpowder and combat stuff with evidence of the war and own history, and "been there look"!
NB! This is a consignment item. Consignment item has an inspection period of 14 days following receipt of the item, and after that, any return for is void. No reason is acceptable for returns of consignment items as we have given most of the money to the consignor.
