WW2 propaganda leaflet for Red Army soldiers about "true life of Russian POW in German captivity ". 660/ IV. 43
size: 20,5x14,5cm, 2 pages
Prisoner of war A.V.I., captured on April 12, 1943, stated:
*"…I was taken prisoner while wounded. I wanted to take my own life, but a German soldier prevented me. German soldiers took me to a field dressing station. In broken Russian, they told me: "Russian, don't be afraid—Germans do not execute prisoners of war."
At the station, they treated my wounds, gave me food, and handed me cigarettes. Then, I was sent to a prisoner-of-war hospital, where I met my wounded comrades. They all unanimously said that they were treated well and taken care of and that they were completely certain that it would remain that way.
For 13 days in the hospital, I observed everything and became convinced that all stories about torture and executions of prisoners are complete lies."*
Photographs and names of prisoners are published only with their special consent.
Join us! We treat prisoners well, especially those who voluntarily come over to our side!
This pass is valid for an unlimited number of Red Army commanders, soldiers, and political officers who cross over to the German Armed Forces, the Russian Liberation Army, or Ukrainian, Kazakh, Turkmen, and Tatar liberation units.
You can surrender without this pass—simply raise both hands and shout:
"Stalin kaput" or "Bayonets in the ground!"
