A participant badge from the 1937 youth camp held under the Deutsche Jugendherberge organization. The badge features a stylized half-timbered house with a triangular roof and the organization's oak leaf emblem. At the bottom is the raised inscription Deutsche Jugendherberge 1937. Members of the Hitlerjugend and Bund Deutscher Mädel took part in the event, as by 1936 all youth organizations had been consolidated under the National Socialist Party. Such camps, tied to the Deutsches Jugendherbergswerk, aimed to strengthen the “people’s community” through physical training, outdoor labor, ideological education, and discipline. This badge is classified as an event badge (Veranstaltungsabzeichen) and was awarded to participants. Made of zinc with a typical granular texture.
