German M35 Luftwaffe SE 66 steel helmet with combat damage. The overall excellent condition of the paint with small traces of rust and scratches from everyday frontline use. On the back of the helmet there is a battle damage with hole from fragmentation through the steel helmet, leather liner and liner's ring. Leather part is signed by the owner with his name: Hannaß. Probably the liner was once replaced, but was it done during the war or after the war - nobody knows. The liner's aluminum ring is identical by condition to the helmet and marked with year: 1940 and size: 66/58 n.A (neuer Art). Approx. 90% of the decal is still present. On the inside of the helmet there are surface rust spots. Very attractive helmet with much of character in good condition.
