German Third Reich combat belt leather strap with aluminum hook. Produced by Richard Ehrhardt, Poesneck, Thüringen, a company founded in 1885. The belt is marked 1938 together with the E38 army depot acceptance mark indicating Erfurt 1938.
The belt was shortened by its owner to a length of 96 cm. The leather tab for the buckle attachment has the owner’s name carved into it.
The belt is made from very thick leather while still retaining good flexibility without cracks or age damage. Natural traces of wartime use and wear are present.
An interesting early Wehrmacht belt with clearly visible markings and signs of personal wartime use.
