Privately tailored Luftwaffe Oberleutnant Tuchrock for flight personnel, produced from high-quality wool merino gabardine. Approximate size 48. An original tailor label remains sewn below the inner pocket on the left side of the lining. The tunic retains its complete original insignia configuration without replacements or later alterations.
This example represents a classic officer’s Tuchrock of the Third Reich period, intended for Paradeanzug, Dienstanzug, Ausgehanzug and Flugdienstanzug wear. It was worn together with a blue-mottled shirt and black tie. The garment was additionally used as part of the kleiner Dienstanzug, Meldeanzug, Kleiner und Großer Gesellschaftsanzug and Tagesgesellschaftsanzug of Luftwaffe officers.
Original award support loops remain attached to the pocket. The only damaged area is located on the inner side of the collar. The fabric shows moth wear in the area exposed to perspiration and biological residue from long-term use, which is typical for worn officer uniforms. The damage is almost invisible from the exterior and does not affect the overall display appearance of the tunic.
An excellent and fully original Luftwaffe officer’s Tuchrock with private tailoring and untouched wartime configuration.
