M39 Soviet helmet in untouched condition, completed!

M39 Soviet helmet in untouched condition. Canvas round liner is typical for early helmets. Has branch number and ink stamps, but bad visible. For sure pre-war made example. Good completed condition without damages. The helmet has interesting history. It was found in Estonia hidden at the farms attic some time ago. As you can see from pictures there are 2 hand made engravings applied by nail or knife on the left and on the right sides of the helmet. The first engraving is Estonian State Emblem and on the other side we see stylized initials made in roman alphabet: A.H of the last owner. But at the same time inside the helmet near the liner you easy could read engraved russian name of helmets first owner (in cyrillic alphabet): KNYAZEV. We could suppose that the helmet was captured as a trophy in summer 1941 by one local anti-communist national fighter who later served in Self Defence Unit or as a Wehrmacht helper. Nice item with spirit of war, unusual history, with interesting inscriptions and for sure one of a kind!! Do not miss!!
