In the issue. The day of Stalin's aviation comes stronger than blows to the enemy!  Be equal to the glorious crew of the pilot-guard Kolesnikov
The Stalinist care of the Soviet state for the children of war veterans. Happy are the children whom the whole country loves and fosters.

"PE-2" in air battles. From combat experience. Starting to fight this spring, our crew has already completed 45 sorties. On the first day of combat work, we happened to make 3 sorties on Wednesday and conduct an air battle, which brought the crew the first victory. In flight on a bombing strike on Kotka, fascist fighters attacked a group of "Petlyakovs". Messerschmitt attacked us. Having found the enemy in time, the navigator- guards Lieutenant Chumalo fired at the Messerschmitt, radio operator-gunner Tokar knocked out from under the tail of the plane, and shot him down with well-aimed bursts. This victory pleased us, but did not turn our heads. We realized that the success of a victory over an air enemy, first of all, depends on the harmony of the crew, correct and clear information about the enemy’s behavior and mutual assistance in battle. Therefore, we began to carefully prepare for assignments, conditioning signals and methods of struggle when meeting with an air enemy. In the last combat flights, our crew had a few more meetings with German fighters and tried themselves out. In one of the flights to defeat German ships in a naval base, up to 15 fascist fighters attacked us. Our fighter support started an air battle. However, one of the Fokke-Wulfs managed to break through to the plane, which was the last to go in formation for photographing a bomb strike. Seeing how FW 190 seeks to attack us from below, the navigator Chumalo warned the crew and clung to the machine gun to let the enemy 100-150 m away, the navigator caught him in sight when he hovered in the air, and shot him down in several bursts. The last victory won by the shooter - radio operator the guards sergeant Tokar deserves special analysis. This time I was leading a squad in the Petlyakov group when enemy planes appeared in the air, the navigator Chumalo immediately warned me and the radio operator Tokar: - look, comes in from the right ... - I see, I see! - responded Tokarr. As soon as Fokke-Wulf approached us, trying to disguise himself as the tail of our plane, I heard the gunner's command: "left"! and immediately fulfilled it, taking advantage of the changed situation, Tokar caught the German in the sight of a machine gun and shot him down. At this time, the new Focke-Wulf came on top of us. I heard the command of the navigator: "turn left!". Being on the alert all the time, I instantly executed the command, thereby knocking down the German from the line of aimed fire. Taking advantage of the confusion, the navigator and the shooter-radio operator combined fire put him to flight. This air battle once again clearly showed us how great coherence, mutual understanding of the crew of a dive-bomber aircraft dealing with an air enemy. Guards Lieutenant V. Kalashnikov.
