Description

RKKA tunic, 1943 pattern, Canadian WW1 wool

1943 pattern Red Army tunic made from distinctive Canadian woolen cloth originally delivered to Arkhangelsk as part of Entente aid during the Russian Civil War. Surplus stocks of this material were later used to produce Red Army uniforms through the end of World War II. This fabric is often mistakenly identified as Lend-Lease, but Canadian wool has a characteristic pea-green tone, while Lend-Lease cloth is more brownish khaki. The tunic is in excellent overall condition. A small patched tear is present near the lower right pocket (on the wearer’s right side), carefully repaired during the wartime period. Approximate size EU 50. Chest area shows small holes left from order attachment.
