German propaganda leaflet for Soviet troops. 661/ IV.43
From the testimony of prisoner of war S.P.M., captured on February 7, 1943:
"...They drove us into battle. One loss followed another. After five days of fighting, our regiment was reduced to little more than a single company. We had to beg for food from peasants and marched dozens of kilometers without proper rations. On February 7, we were surrounded in the western sector, and our entire unit was wiped out. Exhausted and wounded, I was captured by the Germans. Now, I am in a German hospital where their doctors treat us well and take care of us."
Photographs and names of prisoners are published only with their permission.
Join us! We treat prisoners well, especially those who voluntarily come over to our side!
This pass is valid for an unlimited number of commanders and soldiers of the Red Army who cross over to the German Armed Forces, the Russian Liberation Army, or Ukrainian, Kazakh, Turkmen, and Tatar liberation units.
You can surrender without this pass—simply raise both hands and shout:
"Bayonets in the ground!"
