Sleeve shield of the Finnish Volunteers in the SS Wiking division. Finnisches Freiwilligen-Bataillon der Waffen-SS. Sleeve insignia of the third type made in Germany. The first two types were manufactured in Finland. The first is a coloured lion embroidered with yellow silk thread on a red background, as well as white flowers on the field of the shield. The second shield repeated the design of the first type, only made on black material, but very different in manufacture from the German type. Excellent condition. Considering the number of conscript of 1,407 people, and the fact that the unit was disbanded in the spring of 1943. And also the fact that many of the soldiers also carried shields of the first and second types, this shield is a rarity and truly a unique collectible item of the Third Reich. Don't miss it!
