Original fragment of Waffen-SS Platanenmuster camouflage uniform fabric retaining a wartime field repair. During its service life, the damaged area was patched using a later piece of Eichenlaubmuster camouflage fabric, illustrating the common wartime practice of repairing uniforms with whatever suitable material was available. Such period field repairs are encountered far less frequently than ordinary fabric fragments and provide valuable evidence of genuine combat use and continued service of Waffen-SS uniforms.
