The badge shows a shield with a wreath, a vertical sword, swastika, and the inscription: SA – HJ – WINTERWEHRKÄMPFE AFLENZ 27.–29.1.1939. These exercises aimed to prepare youth for future military and party service. Struck from aluminum with a brass-toned hue due to alloy composition. Clearly marked on the reverse: RZM M9/235 Ulbricht Wien. Excellent condition with rich patina. Rare and historically valuable.
