Description

List of points what is strictly prohibited due to fire hazard. Issued by Luftwaffe commander of Luftgau XII/XIII. Such posters usually were placed inside the barracks.

Size is about 29,5 x 21 cm.

Attention!

  1. No stove may be heated unless there is a metal plate or other non-combustible material underneath. The plate must extend 50 cm in front and 30 cm on the sides.
  2. The firebox and ash compartment doors must be tightly closed. The chimney pipes must be securely attached to the stove.
  3. If embers fall near the stove, they must be immediately pushed onto the metal plate. Any burns on the floor must be extinguished immediately.
  4. If the floor burns through at any point, it is necessary to break open the boards immediately to ensure that the fire does not spread under the floor.
  5. Only the daily supply of fuel may be stored in rooms with a stove. Buckets and boxes must be made of non-combustible material and placed at least 1 meter from the stove.
  6. Throwing used matches, paper, cigarette butts, and other flammable waste into the stove is prohibited.
  7. Lighting stoves with alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, or other flammable liquids is prohibited.
  8. Unsealed stoves must always be supervised. Before going to sleep, the fire must be extinguished and the stove cleaned.
  9. Glowing ashes may only be emptied into fireproof containers and extinguished there. These containers must be placed on a metal plate and never on combustible surfaces. They must be emptied immediately after use.
  10. Drying wood or other flammable materials behind, next to, or under the stove is prohibited.
  11. If there are swinging doors near the stove, they must be secured with doorstops or slats so that the door remains at least 25 cm away from the stove.
