Original paper tag used for labeling SS-issued equipment such as steel helmets, gas mask canisters, mess kits, and other personal gear. The handwritten note SS-Mann Wilhelm Blank identifies the item as belonging to an SS enlisted man. These tags were attached to gear prior to distribution or transport and served as temporary identifiers, particularly in peacetime or early wartime periods.
