Wehrmacht Cavalry visor hat with traditional eagle “Schwedter Adler”. Field used visor hat with much character on it, period repaired with a rear side replaced wool. The hat is made of standard rough field wool and replaced wool has been chosen in same quality and near to color Size approx 58. The liner without sweat diamond and marked: Offiziers Kleiderkasse Berlin . The brown leather sweatband is marked: EREL Patent Stirnschutz and underneath of it there is a piece of war period newspaper. Completed with zinc made eagle and wreath. Between the eagle and wreath there s a traditional type eagle. All insignia is period applied to the hat. A fine combat worn example with just a couple of minor moth holes on the top. The eagle has been allowed to wear by Regiments HQ and the 2nd and 4th Cavalry squad in Cavalry Regiment 6 as well as the Kradschützen-Bataillon 3. As per Wehrmacht regulation, most of cavalry regiments have been transformed to the fast troops - “Schnelle Truppen”, which means the armored, motorized, bicycle reconnaissance units. The 6th Cavalry regiment was transformed in August 1939 - November 1940 to the new units: Aufklärungs-Abteilung 33,34,36, 79. The 33 Abteilung fought in Africa. 36 Abteilung fully destroyed in 1944 at the eastern front in Bobruisk area in Belarus.
