FOR BOLSHEVIK ORGANIZATION OF SOWING WORK

The resolutions published by the Central Committee of the VKP(b) and the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR regarding the supply of agricultural products and measures to ensure the 1940 spring sowing campaign are of great significance.

They are aimed at mobilizing collective and state farms for the successful implementation of the sowing campaign, improving labor organization, and increasing the responsibility of collective farmers.

To fulfill the state plan, strict discipline, high-quality work, and organization are required. Only in this way can a good harvest be achieved and the country's food supply tasks fulfilled.


DECREE OF THE PRESIDIUM OF THE SUPREME SOVIET OF THE USSR

ON AWARDING THE TITLE OF HERO OF THE SOVIET UNION TO COMMANDERS AND SOLDIERS OF THE RED ARMY

For heroism and bravery in battles against White Finnish forces, the title of Hero of the Soviet Union is awarded along with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star Medal:

For outstanding contributions to the political education of Red Army units and for strengthening discipline on the front in the struggle against White Finnish forces, the newspaper "On Guard for the Motherland" is awarded the Order of the Red Banner.

AWARDING OF COMMANDERS AND SOLDIERS OF THE RED ARMY

The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR has awarded orders and medals of the USSR for exemplary fulfillment of combat missions assigned by the Command on the front against White Finnish forces and for demonstrating valor and bravery to 11,741 individuals from the command and enlisted ranks of the Red Army, as well as members of their families, hospital workers, and civilian institutions.

Awards granted:

  • Order of Lenin – 180 people
  • Order of the Red Banner – 2,598 people
  • Order of the Red Star – 3,032 people
  • Medal "For Courage" – 2,396 people
  • Medal "For Combat Merit" – 3,538 people
