Infantry visor hat, Heeres NCO of I.R 17 or others, who were entitled to wear traditional Braunschweiger skull, in the middle, between the wreath and the eagle.
This skull take its origin in 1809 with the "Schwarze Schar" and thus was worn successively by different units in order to keep the tradition living. the attached genealogy is showing the units which were entitled to wear this badge. The hat is worn condition, with removed celluloid sweat diamond. Without other damage. Interior is still very nice condition, marked, Theodor Bredthauer Braunschweig, and the logo with inscription “Erstklassig” . Very nice shaped visor, with original to the hat insignia. The one leg of the skull are broken, and located inside of the hat. This is really invisible, and the skull is really good fastened on the hat and make the traces over the cloth. The skull itself are zinc made. Size 57
