Fully Armed to Meet the Military Winter!

Our units continue successfully conducting offensive battles. Soviet troops are clearing new areas of the German-fascist invaders, inflicting heavy losses in manpower and equipment.

The Soviet people clearly understand that autumn and winter will be times of fierce battles. The German command is doing everything to hold the territories it has seized.

The fascist troops are fortifying defensive lines and bringing up reserves. The successes of Soviet troops demand even greater effort from everyone.

The Party and the government are taking measures to provide the front with everything necessary. The Red Army must meet the winter fully armed.


Torpedoes Hit Their Target…

Torpedo-bombers sank five enemy transports

On September 5, our torpedo-bombers attacked an enemy convoy in the Baltic. Soviet pilots sank five enemy transports with a total displacement of 35,000 tons.

Boldly breaking through to the convoy, our pilots launched dozens of torpedoes at the enemy. As a result: one transport of 8,000 tons and four transports of 6–7,000 tons each went to the bottom.

In total, during the combat operations of the Baltic Fleet, 340 enemy transports with a displacement of more than 1 million tons have been destroyed.


Losses of German-Fascist Troops on the Soviet-German Front from July 5 to September 5

During two months of summer battles the German-fascist troops lost:
– more than 2,500,000 soldiers and officers killed and wounded;
– 8,409 tanks destroyed and knocked out;
– 5,192 aircraft shot down;
– 62,000 vehicles, 4,200 guns, and 1,500 mortars destroyed or captured.

In total, more than 150,000 soldiers and officers were taken prisoner.

Operational report for September 7

During September 7 in the Donbass, our troops, advancing with battles, moved forward 10–20 kilometers and captured major populated points: Barvenkovo, Perevoz, Svyatopetrovskoye, Novo-Aleksandrovka, Novaya Rus, Artyomovka, Stepanovka, Ulyanovka, Artyomovo, Novo-Yanisol, Osipenko.

Our troops southwest of Bryansk captured the district center of the Oryol region — Sevsk.

Southwest of Smolensk our troops captured the town of Yartsevo.


With Accurate Armor-Piercing Fire…

Artillerymen destroyed two German tanks with accurate fire.


Awarding Distinguished Artillerymen

The Commander of Artillery of the Red Army, Colonel-General Voronov, issued an order awarding distinguished artillerymen with orders and medals.

On the central front, Sennoye, Staraya Rudnya, Borki, Buyanovo, Dolgovichi, Simonovo, Lugovaya, Klepchany, Semyonovo, Tamoshovka, Yartsevo were taken.

Southwest of Smolensk, Yelnya was captured.

On September 6, 120 German aircraft were shot down.
