Salty Wehrmacht-Peküro infantry officer's visor cap

Wehrmacht-Peküro infantry officer's visor cap. Stirndruckfrei deutsches Reichspatent. Private purchase officer's visor cap is made of high-quality thick slightly mottled field-grey doeskin wool body. A high crown with a dashing front line fashioned crashed look. Hand-embroidered cockade in a wreath of oak leaves, which has slight oxidation of the aluminum gimp in the area of contact with the chin cord.  The eagle is made of aluminum, it's most likely that it was installed later, but the pins aren't pierced through the lining, but under it. The lining also has no holes from the previous eagle mount. The cap has a couple of small tears and holes through it. Salty condition showing the hard trench life of its owner. The visor has been ww2 period restitched back. Size approx 56.
